Long-term Health Care Workers Division

“Quality Care is a Minnesota Value!”

On August 28th, 2008, long-term care members of UFCW 789, SEIU Healthcare Minnesota, Steel Workers and AFSCME united as one force to develop real standards for the long-term care industry.

Under the message that "QUALITY CARE IS A MINNESOTA VALUE," members collaborated and committed to 7 resolutions that would guide negotiations this fall and legislative goals in 2009:

  • Quality, affordable health care

  • Staff retention

  • Training standards and practices

  • Recruitment policies

  • Safety standards

  • Sustainable wages

  • Staffing ratios and standards

Now we must ensure that these resolutions are heard by our representatives and that our officials understand how these issues affect the daily lives and work of our long-term care members.

“We are going to challenge and change the long term care standards where we work and in this State!”
